The Blackfynn platform allows you to quickly find your data by using advanced filtering of metadata records in the Explore pane. After selecting a particular model, you can limit the restrict the returned records by adding one or more filters on the properties of the object, or on properties of objects linked to a record.

You have two models:

  1. Investigator, with properties: 'last name' and 'affiliation'
  2. Experiment with properties: 'name' and 'type'.

If we assume that investigators are linked to experiments in the dataset, you can find all experiments from a particular investigator by adding a filter to the experiment records where you limit the 'name' property of the linked investigator to a particular value. If you want to only see experiments of a particular type, you can add a filter on the property type of the experiment model.
